👩‍🏫 Examiner (Diễn giả 1)

Good afternoon.

👦 Candidate 1 (Diễn giả 2 – Roberto)

Good afternoon.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Can I have your mark sheets, please? Thank you.
I’m Claire, and this is Sandra. What’s your name?

👦 Roberto

I’m Roberto.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

How old are you?

👦 Roberto

I’m 13 years old.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. And what’s your name?

👧 Candidate 2 (Diễn giả 3 – Simone)

I’m Simone.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

How old are you?

👧 Simone

I’m 14.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Simone, where do you live?

👧 Simone

I live in Bucinasco near Milan.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Who do you live with?

👧 Simone

I live with my mom, with my father, with my brother and my sister.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. And Roberto, where do you live?

👦 Roberto

I also live in Bucinasco.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Who do you live with?

👦 Roberto

I live with my mom, my dad and my sister.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. Roberto, tell us about a teacher you like.

👦 Roberto

So I really like my Italian teacher because she really makes us feel part of the lesson,
showing us things on the chalkboard to make us understand really hard concepts.
And so with her lessons, you really learn and understand very well some concepts.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

How often do you use a mobile phone, Roberto?

👦 Roberto

I use it every day.
And I use it just to chat with my friends and maybe sometimes watch some videos.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Simone, how do you get to school every day?

👧 Simone

I take the bus near my house and then I have to take the subway.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Which do you like best, the morning or the afternoon?

👧 Simone

I like the afternoon because you can chill yourself, you can have time for yourself.
Because the morning is too busy, you have to go to school, you have to go to work,
so in the afternoon you can relax and enjoy yourself.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. Now, I’d like each of you to talk on your own about something.
I’m going to give each of you a photograph, and I’d like you to talk about it.

Roberto, here is your photograph. It shows someone learning how to do something.
Simone, you just listen. Roberto, please tell us what you can see in the photograph.

👦 Roberto

Okay, so there are two girls who are following a recipe on the iPad.
They are in the kitchen, and probably they’re making a mess
because you can see all the eggs on the table.
So they are having fun, they are working together.
And one of the girls has a white and black dress,
and the other has curly hair, a T-shirt and some jeans.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Talk about other things you can see in the photograph.

👦 Roberto

So they’re probably making a cake because with the flour and eggs, usually you make a cake.
There is salt or sugar, and yeah, they’re in a kitchen.
And there are some shelves with some food.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. Simone, here is your photograph.
It shows someone at home after school.
Roberto, you just listen. Simone, please tell us what you can see in the photograph.

👧 Simone

So in the photograph I can see a boy who is watching a football match.
Probably his favourite football team is playing right now.
He’s alone at home because nobody is sitting next to him.
He’s in his living room, probably.
He’s wearing trousers and a white shirt.
There is a table in the middle of the living room,
and on the table there are some cards, a candle, a pen, papers.
I think he’s having a really good time because he really likes watching his football team playing.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. Can I have the booklet, please?
Now, in this part of the test, you’re going to talk about something together for about two minutes.

I’m going to describe a situation to you:
Some students from a small village school are going on a trip to their capital city.
Here are some of the activities they could do there.
Talk together about the different activities they could do in their capital city
and say which would be the most interesting.
All right, now talk together.

👦 Roberto

So I think going to the gallery could be an option, but maybe it’s boring at the same time.

👧 Simone

Yeah, a bit boring. What about visiting an ancient castle?

👦 Roberto

Yeah, I think that could be nice because you get to know more about the culture of the city,
watching an ancient monument.
They could also go to a stadium because it’s more entertaining, you see more action.

👧 Simone

Yeah, they can have fun, they can eat together.

👦 Roberto

But maybe going to the football stadium — you can do that in every city.
While having a visit of the city with a bus — you can’t do it everywhere,
because every city is different.

👧 Simone

It gives you the opportunity to see a city better.
But what about the transport museum?

👦 Roberto

I think that could be an interesting visit because you get to see old things
which are maybe typical from the city.

👧 Simone

And what about going shopping, going to the markets?

👦 Roberto

I think that could be nice because you get to buy stuff which is typical from the place.

👧 Simone

They could buy gifts for their friends, for their family.

👦 Roberto

Or maybe also going to the zoo. But maybe… I don’t know.

👧 Simone

Because there are zoos everywhere, in every city.
So you can’t learn more about the city you’re visiting.
So I think the bus…

👦 Roberto

Yeah, the bus visit is the most unique thing to do.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. Roberto, would you like to have more school trips?

👦 Roberto

Yes. Especially in interesting cities in Italy,
big cities like Milan, maybe a bit more often — Milan, Geneva, or Rome.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

What about you, Simone?

👧 Simone

Yeah, I would like to have more school trips, probably abroad,
so you can understand better different cultures, learn another language,
and have fun with friends in another place.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

What do you need to take when you go on a trip?

👧 Simone

I think you have to bring a bag or a school backpack.
You have to bring food to eat and something to drink
because probably the place you visit is in the middle of nowhere
and there aren’t shops to buy things.
And then you have to bring your sunglasses if the weather is sunny.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Do you prefer to go on trips with your friends or your family?

👧 Simone

I prefer going with friends because we can hang out and have a really good time together.
With the family, you go to the museum, to the stadium, to the cinema — but it’s boring.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Do you agree, Roberto?

👦 Roberto

Yeah, I think it depends because with your friends, you can do whatever you like.
You can go wherever you want, while with the family, you have to follow your parents.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

What do you think is the best time of year to visit a city?

👦 Roberto

Probably summer, because you can go to the beach and have a good time.
But maybe it’s too warm.
In the winter, some cities are not good to visit because it’s too cold, like New York.
So I think the best option is summer or maybe also fall.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Okay. And which do you think is more interesting — visiting the countryside or visiting a city?

👦 Roberto

I think the city — there’s more stuff to do.

👧 Simone

Yeah, it’s better.

👦 Roberto

And it’s easier, more stuff in a smaller space.

👧 Simone

Yeah. While in the countryside…

👦 Roberto

You’re in the middle of nowhere and you don’t have much to do.

👧 Simone

Anything.

👦 Roberto

And I think it’s easier also to stay in the city because there are shops where you can buy things.

👧 Simone

But I think if you want to relax yourself, you have to go to the countryside
so you can hear the sound of nature and relax.

👦 Roberto

Yeah.

👩‍🏫 Examiner

Thank you. That is the end of the test.

👧 Simone

Thank you.

Câu trả lời mẫu

1. Would you like to have more school trips? (Where would you like to go?)

Answer 1:
Yes, I’d really like to have more school trips because I think they are a great way to learn new things and spend time with friends outside the classroom. When we go on a trip, we can see real places that we usually only read about in books, so it helps us remember things better. If I could choose, I’d like to go to a big city like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, because there are many interesting museums and historical buildings to visit.
How about you? Would you like more trips too?

Answer 2:
Of course, yes. School trips are always exciting. You can travel with your classmates, take pictures, and discover new cultures. I’d love to visit somewhere near the beach, like Da Nang, because I enjoy the sea and seafood. Also, travelling makes us more independent and confident.

2. What do you need to take when you go on a trip?

Answer 1:
When I go on a trip, I usually take some important things like a backpack, some snacks, a bottle of water, and my phone to take photos. If it’s a long trip, I also bring some extra clothes and a jacket in case it gets cold. Sometimes I bring a book to read on the bus, and of course, some money to buy souvenirs. I think it’s important to be prepared, so you don’t have to worry about small problems during the trip.

Answer 2:
Well, I think you should always take food, drinks, and maybe a hat or sunglasses, especially if it’s sunny. I always take my phone and charger because I like to listen to music and take pictures. If it’s a school trip, I bring a notebook too, because sometimes the teacher asks us to write about what we see.

3. Do you prefer to go on trips with your friends or your family? (Why?)

Answer 1:
I prefer going on trips with my friends because it’s more fun and relaxing. We can talk, listen to music, play games, and take lots of photos together. When I travel with my family, sometimes it’s a bit boring because we visit quiet places and go home early. But with my friends, we can stay up late, try new food, and laugh a lot.
Do you agree with me?

Answer 2:
Actually, I like both, but in different ways. When I go with my family, I feel safe and comfortable because my parents take care of everything. But when I go with my friends, I feel more independent and free to do what I want. I think it depends on the place and the mood.

4. What do you think is the best time of year to visit a city? (Why?)

Answer 1:
In my opinion, the best time to visit a city is in the spring. The weather is warm but not too hot, and the flowers are beautiful. You can walk around comfortably, enjoy outdoor activities, and take nice pictures. Also, many cities have festivals in the spring, so it’s more exciting.
What about you? When do you like to travel?

Answer 2:
I think autumn is the best season to visit a city because the temperature is cooler and there are fewer tourists. You can visit museums, go sightseeing, and try local food without waiting in long lines. I remember visiting Hanoi in autumn, and the weather was perfect — not too hot, not too cold, and the trees looked amazing.

5. Which do you think is more interesting: visiting the countryside or visiting a city? (Why?)

Answer 1:
Well, I think visiting a city is more interesting because there are many things to do and see — shops, restaurants, museums, cinemas, and parks. You can meet new people and experience modern life. For example, when I visited Ho Chi Minh City, I went to the War Museum and learned a lot about history. The city is always full of energy, and I love that.

Answer 2:
Actually, I prefer the countryside because it’s quieter and more relaxing. You can enjoy nature, breathe fresh air, and forget about stress. When I go to the countryside, I like walking in the fields or swimming in a river. It’s peaceful and helps me feel calm after studying hard.
Do you agree?
